U.S. announces major support for Ebola response in DRC and Uganda.

The United States has announced significant financial support to strengthen the Ebola outbreak response in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda.

Washington plans to fund up to 50 treatment clinics and support emergency operations aimed at improving screening, patient isolation, and medical care in affected regions.

The funding will also help accelerate the delivery of protective equipment, diagnostic tools, and essential healthcare services to communities at highest risk.

U.S. authorities say the objective is to rapidly reinforce containment efforts and work closely with international humanitarian and health partners to prevent the spread of the disease.
